It was Jason! He FRAMED them! He - what?! Huh? Why? How do you know? But why would he do that? * Sei holds up his wrist with Hantsuki's band on it. "I don't know! But... but... if he's gonna FRAME students, we gotta make him come clean. I... I want to bring it up to the student council, too. But we don't have a meeting yet. And...I don't want Jason to get word." * LadyCrystal is taking is all rather calmly. "I guess the important question is 'why'." Wait, are you saying someone else did it and he framed them, or that he did it and he framed them? Revenge? Power games? Shits and giggles? JASON did it and framed them! I-- I would guess just 'cause he thought it was funny. The RAs aren't nice. * LadySpitterwing wrinkles her brow. "That's SO weird. I thought he was the nice one." That's a lot of work to go to just for a joke though. There must have been another reason... ...maybe it was because they didn't get punished for when they messed with *our* stuff... Huh? Yeah, if you're gonna be this thorough--eh? * LadySpitterwing sounds like she's mostly thinking to herself. But, well. This is wrong! He has to be made to confess, or be exposed! They may be RAs who have to manage Snowflakes, but they still can't be framing innocent students and then destroying all their stuff just 'cause of it! * LadySpitterwing heaves a heavy sigh, which would make her bounce if she weren't Blended as usual. Yeah, but...how do you know he did it? Hantsuki found out for me. She was looking into it before the whole Hierarchy meeting thing. * LadySwarm nods. "Figured, but I wanted to make sure." She...she just didn't have a chance to tell me 'til AFTER Braxton- tachi's stuff was... Look, Sei...it's not that I think it's right? But like I said, Jason's usually pretty reasonable and I really don't think he would do something like that unless he had a reason. And if he had a reason, it was probably a Hierarchy reason. And don't we have enough problems already trying to figure out what to do about...everything? * Sei looks down, shamed. Why would the Hierarchy wanna do that? It's just a stupid prank, and Jason's got the power to make others pay for it. He probably thinks THAT's funny, too! Then how come it was Rachel and Sayori who made the announcement? * LadySwarm shrugs. "That's easy enough. Tell Lady Spoon. If it wasn't on Hierarchy orders, she'll do something about it. If it was, it's out of our hands." Hm. If he was just doing it for kicks, he would've probably wanted to see their faces or whatever. I just... I'm not sure Spoon-sensei will believe me. He said they'd framed Carter-san for it. Hantsuki? Can we provide evidence Spoon-sensei'd believe? * LadySpitterwing tilts her head. "As to why they'd do it, or at least tell him to do something along those lines, I know Braxton was in the fan club for that-" -a small globule of Venom Spit flies off to the side- "-Wildfire. I think some of his friends were involved, too. Maybe there were trying to cut off her popularity base?" * LadySwarm glances a Spitterwing. "It was still wrong, if that was the reason. But we don't know." She looks over at Hantsuki, waiting for an answer to Murdon's question. Well, that's kinda sudden timing for that, but... I'm not saying it'd be right. Wildfire was AFTER the plays...wasn't she? Uh, Sei, I didn't mention this before, but I think Spoon may already know. Oh! Oh, right. ...oh? * Sei looks at Hantsuki, his expression an unreadable mix of conflicting emotions. I guess I was still thinking like maybe someone else changed the holos and all Jason was doing was choosing who to frame. * LadySwarm cocks her head to one side. "Why do you think so?" He got a mail on Tuesday from her. It's ambiguous. But it sounds like she approves of "that thing", and that it's setting the right tone. ... ... * Hantsuki makes air quotes at the right spot. But...WHY? * LadyCrystal looks a bit confused as well. "If she knows, then... man, maybe there's a side to her we really just don't know much about here." * LadySpitterwing heaves a sigh that makes the previously one look tiny. "You know? I should care?" But I really don't right now. I figured her to be a lot nicer than this. There are snipers on the top floor of the building we live in that Lady Spoon let operate there, that may get orders at any time to put a bullet through our heads. ...she approved people coming onto campus who might kill us. I'm pretty sure there's a lot we don't know about. So...I guess what I'm saying is that there are bigger things to worry about? But... but... WHY!? If we can't help with the little things, how do we expect to handle big ones!? I don't KNOW, Sei. None of us do. I don't see why-- Sadly, 'wing's pretty much on that one. I mean, I just know about it. If it was somebody else who knew about it...then they could. Look, maybe the e-mail was about something else. Hantsuki, would letting her know you tracked the hacking back to him "out" anything about you that people shouldn't know? * Hantsuki pauses before answering. Although hacking into other peoples' EIs is kind of bad. You should probably stop doing things like that, it seems to just be getting us into more and more trouble. But we didn't this time! We just followed a hack backwards! It's like being a detective. * Sei obviously has no clue how cybersecurity actually works. * LadyCrystal takes a moment to roll her shoulders. "Wanting to save the world and being able to save the world are two different things. You need to figure out what you can do, what you can't, and--it's still a privacy violation, Sei." Yeah, but it wasn't *your* job. I'm not saying... I'm not trying to yell at you about it, OK. Sei, the advantage I have is that I have 10th-level Hierarchy security authorizations. Anything that the Hierarchy owns, I can usually just open right up. * Sei blinks. "Wha?" But that also opens us up to things that really turns our world on its head when you do, Hants. So I pray to the Magics you can rein Sei in before he gets the bright idea of raiding the royal library. And sometimes I can do that without leaving a trace. But a really, really skilled tracer would be able to figure out that that's how I did it anyway, if they knew for certain that it was me. Look, Sei. If you and Hantsuki can come up with other evidence as to how to prove that Jason did what he did, go for it. ...so no. We don't wanna let Spoon-sensei know you did it. I've gotten away with a lot of stuff so far because I usually invoke lower-level security, which Ballistics and the SIS don't care as much about. Would in fact expect me to have. But I'll be honest, I just...I can't deal with this right now. It's not my problem and it's got nothing to do with me and...look, if this becomes a pattern, then okay. I'll go in to try and figure out what to do. * Sei nods to Spitterwing. "I understand. I...won't bother you with it anymore, unless I have to. I just wanted... wanted you to not be left out. And again, if it happens more than once, then it's definitely something we should look at. * Sei runs up and hugs Spitterwing. Not a romantic hug, just a friendly one. "Thank you." He lets go and turns away, hiding his blush. He needs to learn impulse control. I just kinda feel like, we don't know enough about the whole thing and maybe there was a valid reason for it even if it was wrong, and, and we have enough on our plates already. D'aww, for cute. Do it again! * LadySpitterwing stops a bit at the hugterruption and steps back, but only after Sei pulls away on his own, as shown by her footprints in the sand. I mean, c'mon, we have Wildfire, the terrorists, changing the Hierarchy's opinion of us, and I guess connected we have those snipers. I REALLY don't want to declare war on the RAs on top of that unless we're ABSOLUTELY sure we have to. All of this sneaking around and secret plans and stuff is HARD! I have to agree. We need to tackle things one at a time, biggest issues first. And while bad, some cruel 'justice' isn't anywhere near snipers and mistrust. AND, oh geez the RAs were right, we have MIDTERMS coming up in a few weeks!! I'm gonna get a C again... *groans* No, you're not. Study. We can work together if you want, it'll help. But... And we're juniors and you're a freshman, so we'll probably have taken a lot of the classes you have to take already, so you've got an extra boost there... ...but then you won't have time to study your OWN stuff... * Sei looks up and grins, blushing again.
